If you ingested a little too much sugar last week like I did a little fresh juice can help counter act the effects. I don’t know if juice is the answer to all of life’s problems but it definitely gets me feeling a little lighter and healthier after I’ve overindulged. This is one of my favorite combinations, the fennel adds a nice licorice note and the pear adds sweetness. I love using fennel in my juicer but I must admit I don’t love it if I am blending since it’s so fibrous. You can easily make this combination in a blender but seed the apple and pear and you might want to strain it before serving. What’s your favorite juice combination?
Pear, fennel and kale juice
serves 1
Ingredients:
- 1 large pear
- 1 large apple
- 1 large cucumber
- 1 bulb of fennel
- 5-6 kale leaves
- 1 inch piece of ginger
- 1/4 fresh lemon
Method:
Cut the fruit to fit your juicer and process. Strain before serving if desired.
