As someone who likes less stuff in my house, books are hard to deal with. We seem to have books everywhere. My husband’s a writer and a collector. His father was also a collector of antique books and when he passed away we inherited numerous boxes of beautiful books. But what to do with all of them?

In a small space you need to make hard decisions about what stays and what goes. When it comes to books the same rule applies. Keep what is meaningful and donate the rest.

Place books on shelves sparingly i.e let the books breathe, don’t pack them in tightly

Sort by size or color

Mix art and other objects in with your books
