Today a movement started. Today I marched. In a time of fear and uncertainty, today I saw the remarkable. I saw hope. There were mothers and daughters, sisters and brothers, husbands and wives but they all marched for the same thing. To be heard, to make an impact and to ignite change.
In a time when I felt there was nothing to celebrate, the Women’s march has given me a reason to be optimistic. I know that today won’t bring change overnight but if we keep protesting, maybe eventually, we will be heard. This new presidency has pointed out that we can take nothing for granted.
So this morning as I was preparing for my adventure I knew I needed a little something to give me the energy to deal with the crowds, the cold, the wet and the walk. The beets in this smoothie will help detoxify the liver by flushing out toxins and adds dietary fiber and nutrients.
