It’s nice to find time alone with your spouse occasionally and reconnect. Our day to day lives are so centered around our son and our business that it’s easy to lose sight of each other. Me and my husband were fortunate enough to get out of town on our own for our anniversary weekend. We spent three days hiking and exploring Bend, Oregon and had a wonderful time. We got to see one of my favorite bands, The National Friday night and ran into some dear friends. My husband would move there tomorrow if he could convince our son to relocate. It’s so nice to unplug from social media and soak up as much time with nature as we can. I thought I’d share some of my photos from the trip. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend as well!
My husband and I bought a house and moved to Bend a week before Christmas last year. Having lived in CA for 20 years and then Alaska for the last 15yrs, Bend is the best move decision we have ever ever made. Almost 6 months and we fall in love with it every day.
Hi Gretchen,
As soon as I saw your comment, I made sure to read it to my husband. He is so ready to make the move to a quieter simpler lifestyle. Hopefully we’ll be joining you in your beautiful city soon! Thanks so much for the encouragement!
Feel free to contact me if you want info. I work in a gourmet kitchen store very close to were you attended the concert.
I want to go there…
It’s one of our very favorite places to get away for a weekend. I always come back so relaxed and every time my husband talks about moving there I am a little bit more convinced that it’s a great idea.
Where are those pictures of the cute furniture from? Did you stay in a cabin? I love it. I’m curious because my boyfriend and I are going there next weekend! I’ve never been and I’m looking forward to it. I really need a vacation!
Hi Divya,
Yes, that is the cottage that we rented when we went to Bend, Oregon for the weekend. It’s a great place to stay. If you ever find yourself taking a trip there I’d be happy to give you a link!
